August 20, 2026 — The Haunted Compound
Enter the Haunted Compound, where drifting wrecks become hosts for aggressive spirits and every destroyed vessel can release a new threat into the battlefield.
New Campaign
- Added a four-stage Level 6 campaign in the Veridian system, beginning in a graveyard of ships and moving toward, then inside, a haunted compound.
- Charred wreckage, blue energy damage, exposed electronics, decay, and a power-core finale give each stage its own haunted visual identity.
Ghosts and Possession
- Ghosts enter from multiple directions and hunt nearby dormant ships. Reaching a wreck possesses it; multiple spirits can stack inside the same vessel to raise its threat.
- Possession boosts a ship’s combat pressure, resilience, and firing capability. Destroying that ship ejects its spirits to hunt another host.
- Dormant ships drift through encounters in controlled numbers, while boss fights can introduce more hosts from the sides.
- Fast, durable red ghosts periodically create elite possessed ships when they reach a dormant vessel.
Possessed Ship Combat
- Ghosts can tether to a nearby player ship, slowing it and pulling it toward the spirit; the danger grows at close range.
- Possessed ships orient toward the pilot while attacking. Later stages introduce faster repositioning and increasingly frequent teleport behavior.
- Later possessed enemies fire homing spectral missiles that can be destroyed. A hit can release ghosts and briefly disable special equipment abilities.
- Elite possessed ships can also appear independently, bringing stronger stats and evasive movement.
Bosses
- Every stage adds a themed boss with chained, alternating gunfire instead of simple simultaneous volleys.
- Boss pressure escalates through added ghosts, homing missiles, lasers, and more aggressive possession opportunities, culminating in a finale that combines the level’s core mechanics.
