Visual Profile
The S.S. Freedom is broad through the shoulders and narrow at the nose. Copper armor panels break up a dark graphite hull; a faceted blue canopy runs down the centerline; cylindrical gun assemblies sit outboard of the cockpit; and two large blue-burning drives anchor the rear. The design is unmistakably a top-down combat fighter rather than a capital ship.
Combat Doctrine
Freedom is the fleet's generalist. It does not match Metal Paradise's mass, Nebula's raw velocity, Ironbound's missile volume, or Solaris's continuous beam precision. Instead, it moves cleanly between those needs. Carter can pressure with direct fire, break contact with a dodge, then return missiles into a formation before the enemy reorganizes.
Weapons and Defensive Growth
The fighter's upgrade path rewards repeated investment rather than a single gimmick. Damage milestones can send fire into secondary targets. Fire-rate progression strengthens the forward pattern. Missile systems add controlled burst damage. Armor progression can unlock projectile reflection, turning a precisely timed defense into an attack.
Its two talent systems amplify position and consequence. Precision Laser projects a continuous beam along the aim line, while Collateral Damage temporarily gives bullets seeking ricochets that can gain additional bounces, vulnerability, and impact splash through further ranks.
Carter's Ship
Because the S.S. Freedom opens the campaign, its battered copper hull becomes the visual thread joining every world. It is present at Earth 3 when the Kharaxi debt becomes war, above Iskara when the planet opens, near the Noctyri fracture, and among the ships that never left Veridian.

Collateral Damage
